Today, Martti is launching Martti University: a professional continuing education platform built for healthcare interpreters and language access professionals.
MarttiU offers 12 CE-accredited courses across two tracks, rolling out now to Martti clients by request. For most existing clients, access is included in their partnership. For everyone in healthcare who manages, works alongside, or depends on qualified interpreters, MarttiU is the first structured professional development resource built specifically for this workforce.
What MarttiU includes
MarttiU offers 12 courses organized into two tracks, with more to come.
The Interpreter Mastery Series includes five courses designed for professional healthcare interpreters. It covers clinical trials, medical terminology and medication names, note-taking techniques, interpreting life-altering news, and advanced topics such as interpreting for spiritual care
The Language Access Ambassador Series is seven courses designed for the broader healthcare workforce. Interpreters, nurses, care coordinators, patient navigators, front-line clinical staff, and anyone else who works in environments where interpreter-mediated communication occurs. These courses cover CLAS standards in practice, language access law and policy, communicative autonomy, working with Certified Deaf Interpreters, Languages of Limited Diffusion, the Limited English Proficient population, and the difference between qualified and certified interpreters. This track extends the reach of MarttiU beyond interpretation teams into the full clinical environment where language access quality is built.
CE accreditation
MarttiU is accredited by the national certification bodies for healthcare interpreters:
- CCHI (Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters): Up to 8.25 CE hours.
- NBCMI (National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters): Up to 0.70 CEUs.
- RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf): Up tp 0.825 CEUs.
Today, the MarttiU course catalogue covers approximately 25% of annual CE renewal requirements for CCHI and NBCMI and 10% for RID. We’re proud to offer accredited training offerings across the three major certification bodies, available through a single, structured platform included with the Martti partnership.
